Low Voltage Rescue and Perform CPR (HLTCPR201B)

The Low Voltage Electrical Work Rescue component of this session will enable participants to carry out a risk assessment of electrically hazardous situations and perform low voltage rescue procedures without hazard to themselves or others.

The Perform CPR (HLTCPR201B) component is Nationally Accredited and is designed to teach Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with the Australian Resuscitation Guidelines and assess that the attendee has sufficient confidence to know when and how CPR should be applied.

This course should be undertaken annually for recertification.

Course Assessment

Assessment consists of three parts:

  • Written paper comprising of 20 questions on CPR and 10 questions on LVR. The pass mark is 75%.
  • Group activities and questioning during course.
  • Practical Assessment with competency indicators:
    • Respond to signs of unconscious casualty
    • Perform CPR
    • Communicate details of the incident

Delivery

Training is delivered face to face including both theory and practical components. Practical application of skills is strongly emphasised.


Award and Recognition

Successful participants will be awarded the following National Unit of Competency: HLTCPR201B.
